super sweet 6th birthday

My sweet little girl turned 6 this past weekend, and, boy, did we celebrate! I have been planning this birthday with the little birthday girl for months...candy themed, so fun! I showed her pictures on Pinterest to see what she liked and what candy she wanted. This was such a fun party to plan. My mom and sister are my little party planning co-conspirators, so I truly have to say that Andrew and I couldn't have pulled it off without those girls. Thanks so much to them! Anyway, her birthday was on Friday, so OF COURSE we had to take treats to school for her little kindergarten class. That night, Nora's menu of choice: hamburgers, hotdogs, broccoli, watermelon, and Muddy's cupcakes. Interesting pairings, but the birthday person gets to plan dinner...period. So that's what we had. :) Then she got to open her gifts. She was so excited about her violin! And I am so excited that she was able to start lessons this week!

We were a little worried about the rain on her party day, but it turned out to be a beautiful day and the nice rain that morning kept it from being too hot. It was perfect! A wonderful day for almost 20 little girls to celebrate Nora's birthday with her. :)  Here are some snap shots from the party...ideas are thanks to various sites all on my Pinterest boards.  My mom made the table skirt, my sister made the delicious and adorable pink and white cake pops, and a friend made the paisley cookies...what a cute touch!

Mother's day was nice a relaxing.  A wonderful service at church and then an afternoon in the backyard putting up the kids' new trampoline from my parents for their birthdays...one of the pluses of having their birthdays so close is letting them share presents.  Needless to say, the kids LOVE it.

totally worth the effort!  They love it!
